TAG Video Systems' Lens Wins Industry Awards for Cutting Through Alarm Noise with Real-Time Operational Visibility

New York, NY, April 28, 2026 — TAG Video Systems, the leading IP-native Realtime Media Platform, today announced that Lens, its visual service health interface for broadcast operations, received three industry awards at NAB Show 2026: the IAMT Impact Award in the Operations & Lifecycle category, TV Tech's Best of Show Award, and NAB Show Product of the Year.
The recognition reflects a broader industry shift in how broadcast operations teams think about monitoring. Visibility into individual feeds has never been the problem: most operations have no shortage of alarms. What has been harder to solve is giving engineers the situational awareness to act on those alarms fast, at scale, across distributed infrastructure. According to New Relic 2025 State of Observability for Media and Entertainment report, high-impact outages in the industry take an average of 40 minutes to resolve at a cost of $2 million per hour.
Lens addresses that gap directly. Rather than surfacing alarms as individual events, Lens contextualizes them within a hierarchical view of the entire operation, letting engineers see immediately whether a problem is isolated or widespread, and can trace root cause in seconds without switching tools.
"Broadcast engineers are already managing an enormous amount," said Michael Demb, VP Product Strategy at TAG Video Systems. "The goal with Lens was to reduce the cognitive load of fault isolation, to make the answer visible rather than requiring engineers to construct it from scratch every time something goes wrong. The industry response at NAB tells us that problem resonates."
Lens is available in TAG MCS version 1.7.0. Full product details are available here.
