Showcases resilient solutions for satellite-to-IP migration, REMI and hybrid live production
Appear ASA (Appear, OSE:APR), a global leader in live production technology, will showcase at the 2026 NAB Show (April 19-22, Las Vegas, LVCC) how it is building on significant business momentum to enable media companies to innovate and deliver the most valuable live sports events.
Following a successful IPO in November 2025, the company is well positioned to accelerate its vision to become the leader in live production technology and continue its expansion globally.
“Our customer-first approach is built into the DNA of Appear,” said Thomas Bostrøm Jørgensen, CEO, Appear. “We are fortunate to work with industry leaders like NBCUniversal, YouTube, LaLiga, PSSI and a whole host of others that encourage us to push the boundaries of what’s possible in demanding live event production and processing. These close relationships directly shape our focus, and Appear technology continues to be the first choice for delivering high-value content at scale. We see exciting opportunities ahead as we continue to expand our footprint and capabilities.”
Addressing key industry trends
On its NAB booth (W1531), Appear will highlight three critical use cases:
1. Satellite-to-IP migration: built for resilient distribution and contribution
The industry is moving from legacy satellite delivery to IP to address spectrum constraints and improve cost efficiency. The Appear X Platform, a high-capacity, ultra-dense, low-latency media processing and gateway platform, is ideally placed to support this shift, as recently demonstrated by NBCUniversal’s deployment, which delivered a 200% density increase at edge sites while simplifying operations and enabling more flexible IP- and cloud-connected workflows.
2. REMI and distributed production at scale
Sports leagues, broadcasters and rights holders are increasingly adopting REMI and distributed workflows to reduce costs and increase production capacity for live events coverage. Appear’s technology enables the acquisition, contribution and distribution of video content at scale, ensuring precise timing, synchronisation and reliability across AVC/HEVC and ultra-low-latency JPEG XS workflows.
3. One operational workflow from edge to cloud
The trend for virtualisation and cloud extends to premium live production use cases. Appear will demonstrate how broadcasters can run live production as one operationally coherent, flexible and resilient workflow across hardware, software and cloud resources, prioritising deterministic performance where it matters and elasticity where it adds the most value.
Alongside the X Platform, NAB will see Appear showcase VX Media Gateway, a cloud-ready, API-driven software platform designed to complement the X Platform by extending media transport and processing into datacentre and cloud environments, enabling customers to build resilient hybrid production infrastructures.
“Appear comes to NAB Show 2026 in the middle of a period of sustained growth, particularly in the North American region,” said Ed McGivern, President & General Manager, Appear US. “Visitors to our booth will see how our customer-focused innovation is driving success, helping sports leagues, federations, broadcasters and service providers to modernise their workflows and keep pace with audience demand.”
