Continuing development drives advances in security, availability, access and connectivity

Bitfocus, the specialist in media control and monitoring, will bring the latest version of its enterprise-class Buttons software to NAB Show (booth N2665, co-exhibiting with Elgato, Las Vegas Convention Centre, 19 – 22 April). The team will also discuss exciting new functionality which is in the pipeline to make the platform even more comprehensive.

Buttons has a growing reputation worldwide for its ability to take complex, multi-vendor technology stacks and bring it under simple, clear and reliable control. With a library of APIs far exceeding 500 – and new partners like Sennheiser joining – every popular and widely-used piece of equipment can be brought into the Buttons environment, where users can design complex workflows, with simple control at each critical position.

Recently released, version 1.6 of Buttons enhances still further its enterprise capabilities. It ensures high availability through the ability to run the core software on three computers or virtual machines in parallel for guaranteed non-stop performance. Users design interfaces, with precisely the right controls, for computers, tablets or specialist hardware like the Elgato Stream Deck family, to ensure intuitive performance under pressure.

The latest release also enhances security through comprehensive user and role management, linked to enterprise single sign-on environments where appropriate. Authentication can also use tokens, passkeys or WebAuthn. Multi-site and remote productions benefit from hardened security in all control communications.

“Broadcasters, events producers and AV creators increasingly rely on Buttons for the most complex live productions with rich and varied underlying technology,” said Ole-Andreas Løvland, Bitfocus CEO. “We continue to develop our software thanks to conversations we have with our users, including at NAB.

“This year we will demonstrate our platform and its latest version,” he said, “but more importantly we will be talking about our ideas for future releases, and inviting our visitors to share their needs and expectations. That way we can be sure we continue to forge the right path, and build still further our reputation as the name to trust in media control.”

Visitors to NAB Show 2026 will find a comprehensive demonstration of the capabilities of Buttons on the Elgato booth, N2665 in the North Hall. Find out more at bitfocus.io.
