panel layouts with unprecedented ease and flexibility
Oslo, Norway, 24 March, 2026 – Nevion, a Sony Group Company, today announced a
major enhancement to the broadcast control capabilities of its flagship media
orchestration platform, VideoIPath, with the release of a new Panel Builder tool. This
software enables broadcasters and media companies to easily design, configure and
manage hardware control panels, without the need for physical devices during setup.
The new Panel Builder provides a visual representation of supported hardware panels
directly within VideoIPath, allowing users to assign actions such as endpoint switching,
connect/disconnect commands, profile or parameter settings, and multi-page navigation
with simple drag-and-drop design. The system also supports advanced configurations
such as stacked panels, whereby multiple hardware panels act seamlessly as one.
At launch, Panel Builder supports Sony MKS-R4020 and Elgato StreamDeck Studio
control panels, with more to follow.
This new functionality dramatically simplifies both initial deployment and ongoing
operations. Users can create layouts offline, replicate them across multiple locations or
devices, and replace field panels instantly without re-engineering configurations.
Because all logic resides inside VideoIPath rather than the panel hardware, the system
enables more advanced functionality than standalone hardware can typically support,
delivering a significant operational advantage for broadcasters.
This enhancement builds on the rapidly growing adoption of VideoIPath as a broadcast
control system (BCS) by broadcasters worldwide, who are choosing the platform over
more traditional control solutions thanks to its flexibility, scalability and powerful
orchestration features.
The latest release of the VideoIPath software also includes integrations with Riedel
intercom, Arista MCS, and Sony CNA-2 camera control, as well as a tag dictionary for
assigning structured labels to endpoints, and various system improvements.
Arne-Johan Martinsen, Product Director for VideoIPath at Nevion explains: “The new
Panel Builder represents a major step forward in making broadcast control more
intuitive, powerful and flexible. This is all part of our commitment to continuously evolve
VideoIPath to meet the needs of modern IP-based production.”
VideoIPath will be on show at the Sony booth (C8401) at the NAB Show in Las Vegas,
April 18–22, 2026.
