NAB Show 2025 marked the debut of the Project of the Year Awards, a new program created to highlight the outstanding key players bringing to life the most ambitious and innovative projects delivered in 2024.
The National Geographic project was a collaborative effort among the customer lead, Brad Hughes, Director, Technology and Workflow Strategies; TMT, SDVI and Signiant to address upstream challenges within National Geographic's complex media supply chain. TMT’s Intelligent Ingest solution, powered by its Polaris operational management platform, and Signiant’s file transfer and validation capabilities streamlined and automated the media acquisition and ingest processes and enhanced collaboration between content suppliers and National Geographic’s operations and QC teams. The results have been significant reductions in errors and costs, an accelerated time-to-market, and improved efficiency across National Geographic’s content supply chain.
The A+E project was led by David Klee VP, Media Engineering and Broadcast Operations at A+E Networks, working with TMT and technology partners SDVI, Arch Platform Technologies and AWS. By orchestrating ingest, editing, and distribution in the cloud, A+E has eliminated on-premises editing, reduced reliance on third-party service providers, and significantly shortened delivery timeframes by 70%. This transformation now enables A+E to efficiently deliver content across broadcast, VOD, FAST, and direct-to-consumer platforms, while reducing infrastructure complexity and maintaining high quality standards.
“These two project success stories are a testament to what’s possible when innovative technology meets bold vision,” said Hannah Barnhardt, COO of TMT Insights. “Each underscores the TMT mission to accelerate our clients’ technology deployments and help them achieve true business transformation with workflows that are practical, scalable, and future ready.”
The first-of-its-kind NAB Project of the Year program recognizes excellence across the broadcasting and entertainment industry, honoring cutting-edge applications, installations, workflows and use cases that push boundaries and redefine possibilities. Winners were selected by a panel of industry peers.
“NAB is proud to recognize the industry’s top work driving a remarkable range of solutions opening new frontiers and shaping the future of content creation, distribution and monetization,” said Eric Trabb, senior vice president and chief customer success officer at NAB. “Twice as many congratulations go out to TMT Insights on earning the 2025 NAB Show Project of the Year Award for A+E Networks and Nat Geo— empowering storytellers to connect with audiences in breakthrough ways that are shaping the future of media.”
