NAB Las Vegas Booth N1539, April 6th, 2025: Ikegami USA (www.ikegami.com) will demonstrate examples from its wide range of broadcast quality production equipment during the April 6th-9th 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas. Making their NAB Las Vegas premiere at Ikegami Booth N1539 in the North Hall will be the UHL-X40 ultracompact UHD/HD HDR camera, IPX-100 IP extension unit and OCP-500 operation control panel.

“We will be demonstrating our ability to deliver television production systems combining high picture quality, ease of operation and robust construction at affordable prices,” comments Teri Zastrow, Director of Sales & Marketing. “The UHL-X40 is one of the most versatile cameras the company has ever developed, designed for applications requiring an inconspicuous local or remote camera with uncompromised UHD performance. Introduced at NAB New York 2024 and making its NAB Las Vegas debut, it consists of an ultra-compact head and separate control unit for applications such as studio robotics, self-op newsroom presentation, sports close-ups and point-of-view capture.”

“IP connectivity continues to grow in importance throughout the media business,” adds Emilio Aleman, Senior Product Manager. “Our new IPX-100 IP extension unit is a compact and lightweight unit suited for use in a central equipment room, REMI mobile unit or flight pack, or for operation as a portable throw-down unit. Equipped to work fully self-contained, it incorporates a test signal generator which allows system configuration before cameras or other sources are connected.”

“The ability to place cameras at many different locations has long been a core element of high-impact outside broadcasting,” summarizes Alan Keil, Vice President and Director of Engineering. “The UHL-X40 and IPX-100 are designed to make multicam field production more efficient than ever. In large productions with limited space for video control, our new OCP-500 slimline panel delivers very high space efficiency without compromising on versatility.”

NAB LAS VEGAS SHOW PREMIERE: Ikegami UHL-X40 UHD/HD HDR camera
The Ikegami UHL-X40 is a broadcast-quality two-piece box-style ultra-compact UHD/HD HDR camera designed for applications where size and weight are a priority. The UHL-X40 camera head is just 4.7 x 5 x 4.4 inches in size and weighs only 2.4 pounds. It is powered locally with 12 volts DC and connects to the compact CCU-X40 control unit via up to 6.2 miles of duplex single-mode fiber carrying uncompressed RGB raw pixel data. Included with the fiber link is a 1G Ethernet trunk for external data such as pan/tilt/zoom control. The camera incorporates three high quality ⅔ inch UHD sensors with a global shutter pixel architecture which captures natural images even when shooting LED screens, clear of geometric distortion during still frame replay. The global shutter imagers also minimize artifacts when televising flash/strobe-illuminated stage environments. The UHL-X40 achieves F10 sensitivity at 2160p59.94, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 62 dB in HD. HDR and BT.2020 color reproduction are available as standard.

NAB LAS VEGAS SHOW PREMIERE: Ikegami IPX-100 IP extension unit
Making its first US exhibition appearance, the IPX-100 is a compact IP base station for Ikegami UNICAM cameras. It allows broadcast content creators to adopt SMPTE ST 2110 IP remote operation while supporting the familiar workflow of baseband live production. Each camera can feed into an IPX-100 via up to 2 miles of conventional SMPTE-hybrid fiber cable. The camera head is powered by the IPX-100 so there is no operational difference for the camera operator compared with using a conventional fiber-cabled camera. Support is included for the video trunk channel of Ikegami UNICAM XE cameras. An HD-SDI video monitoring output allows direct connection of a field monitor to the IPX-100, facilitating initial setup. A web browser, XE Web View, is now available for remote setup and monitoring of the IPX-100.

NAB LAS VEGAS SHOW PREMIERE: Ikegami OCP-500 operation control panel
Exhibited as a prototype last year and now in production, the OCP-500 is a slim-style OCP which takes up less desk space while still offering complete remote control of all camera functions, including full setup adjustment via an LCD touch screen and associated rotary encoders. Designed for integration into a video control position in a mobile unit or studio production room, the panel’s 3¼ inch width offers space-saving efficiency without compromising on functionality. Five OCP-500 panels fit in the space of four OCP-300 control units. Illuminating silicone rubber control buttons tested to over 100,000 key presses contribute to the OCP-500’s high durability. Ethernet interface, including power, is featured. Data can be stored or shared via USB memory sticks. Direct connection via RS-422 control cable is also available.

ALSO ON SHOW:

• UHK-X700 UHD/HD HDR ⅔ inch 3-CMOS studio/portable UHD camera with IP and HFR options. Weighing only 11 pounds, the UHK-X700 comes with a B4 lens mount and has an optical sensitivity of F10 when operating at UHD/59.94p.

• UHK-X750 UHD/HD HDR full studio camera with all the UHK-X700 features except those that apply to portable shoulder operation. It offers a lower center-of-gravity and easier staging compared to a portable camera with telephoto lens and supporter.

• UHD-upgradeable UHK-X600 HD HDR studio/portable camera with three ⅔ inch oversampling UHD CMOS sensors providing 1000 TVL resolution, minimal aliasing, plus 2000 lux sensitivity at f10 (60p). Options include support for up to 4x high frame rate capture.

• HDK-X500 3-CMOS HD HDR portable camera system for pedestal, tripod and shoulder operation. Features include global shutter sensors plus automatic optical vignetting correction throughout the range of OVC-compatible B4 bayonet mount zoom lenses.

• HLM-2460WA LCD monitor, building on the features and performance of its HLM-2460W predecessor, is designed for use in broadcast environments such as edit suites where a computer-friendly WUXGA display resolution is preferred, and for integration into monitor walls.

• HLM-1860WR is an AC or DC 1920 x 1080 multiformat monitor with a larger (18.5 inch) IPS LCD panel than its HLM-1760WR predecessor, within the same 7U housing. The 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 500 nits peak brightness display reproduces clear images even outdoors.
