We spoke with John Souchet, Enterprise Account Manager at Memnon, about the content and migration services they offer for broadcasters, what trends he thinks will make a big splash, and more.

Catching up with Memnon pre-NAB 2023
What’s something you’re really forward to at this year's show?
NAB is a great conference for connecting with others and seeing where technology is going. I look forward to connecting with industry colleagues and clients, and checking out new technologies on display at the show.
Can you share what your company is showcasing at NAB 2023?
Our team will be on the ground to discuss the content and migration services we offer for broadcasters, production companies and content distributors. We’re passionate about enabling media organizations to realize the full value of their content library, so we look forward to sharing how we can help make that happen. We’re also excited to share more about our recent leadership appointments and new US headquarters, as well as the projects we have in the works with the New Zealand government and others. And, we will have a new look to our branding that is being showcased for the first time at NAB!
What trends are you looking out for?
As we continue to live in an extremely digital world, I expect we’ll see new innovations in cloud-based distribution and production. Especially as media organizations race to get legacy content into the cloud, whether for preservation or monetization reasons, we anticipate more vendors will be coming out with cloud-based solutions.
Anything specific you're excited to see this year?
AI and Machine Learning is a topic that I’m seeing everywhere, so I'm interested in seeing how Artificial Intelligence is working its way into conversations within the broadcast and content world. We’re seeing AI platforms delivering pretty dramatic results in things like AI-driven metadata tagging and enrichment, so it’s exciting to discover the latest innovations on the market in that sphere.
How do you think production technology is evolving? Where is the future of the industry heading (in your opinion)?
We know now that remote collaboration is crucial for video production - and it’s a workflow shift that shows no sign of waning. Because of this, I believe that production technology will continue to evolve to incorporate cloud-based solutions and IP-based infrastructures.
What tech/booths are you most excited to see/visit?
I’m most excited to check out some LED manufacturers. I find the space and technology, particularly how they’re being deployed for production, fascinating.
Where can we visit you at the show? (booth number)
You can see us at booth # W1143E in the AWS Partner Village.
