An interview from the 2023 NAB Show in Las Vegas with Gilbert Sawaya of MRMC. Mark Roberts Motion Control’s award-winning products empower creative professionals with the precision, speed and efficiency required to capture your vision.

The LLS-1 Light Lift System expands MRMC’s PTZ enablement solutions by adding a vertical lift solution offering upmost flexibility with floor, wall or ceiling mounting options available. With a range of height configurations, the LLS-1 can comfortably capture sitting and standing shots without reconfiguration.

Expand your range of motion by creating a dual lift system that comprises two LLS-1 lifts and a QRS-1 rail. This solution shares the quiet and smooth rail operation of the QRS-1 and the same core 655mm of smooth lift travel offered by the LLS-1. The dual system also has genlock sync input to allow synchronised FreeD positional data to be output and used with virtual graphics systems.

The AJS-1 Auto-Jib is the perfect solution to enhance your live PTZ-captured content. Capture smooth ’on-air’ movement and repeatable movement with a platform that is extremely quiet and smooth to operate. The Auto-Jib delivers smooth motion with quiet operation, ideal for all studio applications and for use in House of Worship with full remote operation capabilities. When used with MRMCs ARC-360 or any 3rd party PTZ cameras, the AJS-1 can help you achieve over-arching shots of crowds and live audiences. The system features a removable camera sled for easy installation. The AJS-1 allows for repeatable moves without the requirement for skilled operators. It can capture consistent repeatable shots, that even the best skilled operators cannot achieve using the same movement twice with a manual jib. The AJS-1 allows you to clone movements across multiple installations e.g., a church with 5 venues of worship, achieving identical signature motion at each venue.

MHC is a class-leading, remote control, next generation platform. Supporting sporting events, studios, stadiums or other live events, MHC can be tailored to the user’s requirements for complete speed, control and functionality. The software platform is designed for complete user simplicity. Control a multitude of MRMC robotic heads at the touch of a button from a single workstation, with an extremely simple, intuitive UI.

The MHC interface is flexible and can be tailored exactly to the users requirements. A variety of different skins are available for a multitude of sporting events, studios, stadiums and other live events. Tailor-make your camera moves and save preset positions, with full control of cameras (including POD, Visca and other cameras on request). Built on IP technology, these robotic heads can be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world!

Works as a standalone application and with hardware controllers, such as pan bars, MRMC joystick and other USB devices or as a complete suite of professional features, including embedded IP video capability and switching of multiple video sources.

Polymotion Chat’s computer vision engine detects limbs and builds a stick model to enable it to track subjects. This not only means the camera tracking system creates high-quality broadcast level output (without losing resolution — like some pan and scan systems), it is more reliable than other facial tracking solutions and is able to deal with occlusion — such as people crossing in front of each other. The system can be designed to work at any level, from simple 3 camera control for live streaming and conference events, through to multi-camera productions for broadcast. Polymotion Chat integrates with MRMC robotic heads and third party PTZs and studios systems.
