Pliant Technologies Showcases Latest Updates to CrewCom Wireless Intercom System and More at NAB 2019

Q What new products/services has your company introduced since last years’ NAB?

A Pliant Technologies is showcasing the latest updates to its CrewCom wireless intercom system along with its newly enhanced SmartBoom LITE Headset, Drop-in Charger, Fiber Hub and the new FlexLR connector at NAB 2019 (Booth C8548). The newly released CrewCom firmware update includes numerous system improvements as well as the incorporation of new Oceania 900MHz models. The newly enhanced SmartBoom LITE Headset (PHS-SB11L) features an improved dynamic noise-canceling microphone with wider frequency response, increased sensitivity, an enhanced speaker with wider frequency response, reduced distortion and an updated foam ear pad for added stability and comfort. The new Drop-in Charger (PBT-RC-66) allows six Radio Packs (RPs) plus six additional batteries to charge in the same device for more effective battery management on location. The CrewCom Fiber Hub (CHB-8F) expands system capabilities for a more efficient system deployment by allowing up to eight fiber connections using standard SFP- based connectivity supplied with single-mode fiber ports along with a single RJ-45 copper port to interface to existing CrewNet™ connections.

Q What motivating factor drives you to continue innovating year after year?

A We continually look at how our products can adapt to the constantly changing RF landscape worldwide and a growing need for wireless communications. We regularly update and expand the system so that CrewCom will continue to meet the demands of any live production today and into the future.

Q How would you describe the energy around this years’ NAB show?

A NAB is alive and well. The NAB Show is a great opportunity for us to meet with our existing and potential customers, and to hear firsthand how our products are being utilized across the globe.

Q How has NAB evolved over the years?

A The focus of NAB has changed from catering to mainly major stations and TV transmission and production products to representing all types of media and the production requirements for all sectors.
