Jonathan Aroesty, president of Pronology, talks about Pronology at this year's NAB Show.
Q What new products/services has your company introduced since last years’ NAB?
A At Pronology, we have streamlined our IP capture workflow solutions and enhanced both our mRes encoder and CenterPoint media asset management platform for cloud-based workflows. We are also highlighting StreamFile Core, a cross-platform, standalone encoder. StreamFile Core encodes evolving IP standards, such as Aspen, NDI, NMI, SMPTE 2022 and SMPTE 2110, and distributes content as popular file-based codecs, such as ProRes, DNX, XDCam and others. This enables facilities and studios moving to an IP-based platform to utilize existing non-linear editing systems (NLE), graphics and digital system infrastructures throughout this transitional phase.
Q Finish the sentence: 2018 will be the production industry’s year of _____
A IP to IP workflows.
Q What motivating factor drives you to continue innovating year after year?
A Advances in technology and a lighting pace make it exciting to explore how we can best future-proof our tools. Our team is behind-the- scenes at various productions and have the know-how to see first-hand what the workflow needs are and how they can potentially be improved. We leverage this viewpoint and create products and solutions that benefit the operator and the production as a whole.
Q How would you describe the energy around this years’ NAB show?
A It is an interesting time as we see a real convergence of pro-sumer and broadcast tools.
Q How do you expect NAB 2018 to differ from NAB 2017?
A I expect a larger international attendance and a greater amount of attendees focused on buying.
Q Where can we find you on the show floor?
