Carl Walter Holst, CEO, Appear TV answers a few questions about NAB 2018.

Innovation & Growth for Appear TV at NAB 2018

Q What new products/services has your company introduced since last years’ NAB?

A Appear has reinforced both its hardware and software portfolio. The Adaptive Bitrate Packager now works alongside our Live Software Transcoder. Also, for the first time, the X-Series hardware will showcase all latency modes, TICO, J2K and HEVC, live from our stand.

Q Finish the sentence: 2018 will be the production industry’s year of…

A Open standards. Hopefully.

Q What motivating factor drives you to continue innovating year after year?

A There is always disruption in this industry. It keeps us on our toes, which really is pretty thrilling. It’s definitely the fast-paced tempo and the fun that keeps us going.

Q How would you describe the energy around this years’ NAB show?

A The atmosphere is always electric at NAB. Appear is situated at South Hall Upper, where the exhibitors present a glimpse into the future. Almost like having a DeLorean.

Q How do you expect NAB 2018 to differ from NAB 2017?

A Inspired by the NAB/Vegas mindset, Appear has had a year of innovation and growth. We now provide solutions for contribution, distribution and OTT. Venturing into new markets means whole new business opportunities. With our updated product portfolio, further integration of our products and the expanded list of codecs that we now offer, we look forward to meeting with our existing as well as new potential customers about our complete suite of hardware and software offerings.

Q Where can we find you on the show floor?
