This “unstructured” data is projected to surpass 100 Zetabytes worldwide by 2020. Not only is 4K going mainstream, but 8K and high dynamic range (HDR) content are becoming a more likely choice for a variety of applications such as corporate video, sports, and VR/AR.
In November of 2018 Vitec, with its brand Teradek the market leader in wireless video transmission systems for the motion picture industry, has acquired Amimon, the supplier of the video transmission technology inside the Teradek Bolt and ARRI Wireless Video System (WVS). In a joint statement with ARRI, Vitec declares its continued commitment to the ARRI WVS product line, which is being expanded with its latest addition, the ARRI WVR-1s, a compact and lightweight wireless video receiver.
Lectrosonics is very pleased to announce the introduction of the DCHT portable digital stereo transmitter. The new DCHT unit is designed for use in film and TV production as both a wireless audio link from a bag or cart system to cameras, and as a portable IFB transmitter paired with the Duet digital wireless M2R receiver packs. The DCHT accepts two channels of mic or line level analog signals or an AES digital signal from a mixer, and transmits to the receiver or receivers in a pure digital format. The digital architecture of the new DCHT is a third-generation design with specially developed, high efficiency circuitry for extended operating time on two AA batteries.

Blackmagic Design today announced URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2, a second generation URSA Mini Pro camera featuring fully redesigned electronics and a new Super 35mm 4.6K image sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range that combine to support high frame rate shooting at up to 300 frames per second. In addition, URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 supports Blackmagic RAW and features a new USB-C expansion port for direct recording to external disks.
